ISRO successfully tests drogue parachutes for Gaganyaan

ISRO successfully tested drogue parachutes of the Gaganyaan Crew Module at Rail Track Rocket Sled (RTRS) in Chandigarh. The module's deceleration system uses 10 parachutes of 4 types: apex cover parachutes remove protective cover, drogue parachutes stabilise and slow the module, and pilot parachutes deploy main parachutes for a safe landing. ISRO will launch Gaganyaan mission in 2026.
