ISRO tracking massive 'Apophis' asteroid named after Egyptian God of Chaos
ISRO is monitoring the massive asteroid 'Apophis' that will have its closest encounter with Earth on April 13, 2029. Named after demon serpent who personified evil and chaos in ancient Egyptian mythology, Apophis has an estimated diameter of about 340 to 450 metres. "India will cooperate with all nations to ward off this and other such future threats," ISRO said.
