ISRO's Mars orbiter runs out of fuel 8 years after launch, loses link: Officials

The Mars orbiter launched by the ISRO in 2013 has run out of propellant and its battery has drained beyond the safe limit, PTI reported citing officials. The Mars Orbiter Mission reportedly entered a long eclipse period in April and lost contact with ground station. The ₹450-crore craft, designed to last only for six months, orbited Mars for eight years.
