IT industry seeks tax reductions for hiring ahead of Budget 2026

Ahead of Budget 2026, India's technology industry has called for changes in tax provisions to support hiring, ease cross-border taxation issues, and improve clarity on foreign tax rules. A memorandum by NASSCOM sought a "modernised interpretation of existing provisions." Tax reduction on hiring employees earning upto ₹25,000 is outdated and doesn't reflect current market realities, said NASSCOM.
