It was an innocent passage: US on Navy operation in India's exclusive zone

American warship the USS John Paul Jones' recent passage through waters off the Maldives was an "innocent passage" through its territorial waters "in normal operations", Pentagon Press Secretary John F Kirby has said. This came after India conveyed its concerns over the US Navy operation within India's Exclusive Economic Zone "without consent". It said UN Convention doesn't authorise the same.
