Italy fail to qualify for FIFA World Cup for 3rd straight time

Four-time champions Italy failed to qualify for FIFA World Cup for third straight time after losing to Bosnia and Herzegovina in penalty shootout in their play-off final on Tuesday in Zenica. Italy have become the first former champions to miss out on three straight World Cups The only other World Cup that Italy did not qualify for was in 1958.
