Italy's Milan introduces ban on smoking in public areas

Italy's Milan introduced a ban on smoking in public areas starting January 1 to improve air quality and protect residents from passive smoking. The ban will be extended to all public or publicly used outdoor areas, including streets and roads. Those seen smoking in public places would face fines from around ₹3,500 to ₹21,000 (€40 to €240) under new regulation.
