Italy's internet traffic jumps 70% as kids play games during COVID-19 lockdown

Italy's largest broadband provider Telecom Italia has said the data passing through its national network surged 70% in the past two weeks as schools remain closed during a nationwide coronavirus lockdown. The company said a "big contribution" came from online games like Fortnite. Italy also closed all shops except food stores and pharmacies as coronavirus deaths crossed 1,000.
