J&K CM Omar vacates Budgam seat, retains family bastion Ganderbal

Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah on Monday vacated the Budgam Assembly seat, one of the two seats from where he was elected. He retained the Ganderbal constituency, which is an Abdullah family stronghold. Omar had won from Ganderbal with a margin of 10,574 votes, while he won from Budgam with a margin of 18,485 votes.
