J&K's mountains warming faster than plains: IIT Kharagpur study

Jammu and Kashmir's high-altitude regions are warming significantly faster than the plains, according to a new IIT Kharagpur study. Published in Scientific Reports, the study found that several of these regions have warmed by nearly 1°C over the past two decades. Tourist destinations such as Pahalgam and Gulmarg are among the fastest-warming areas, it added.
