Jaaved Jaaferi's wife cheated of ₹16.24 crore, BMC official absconding after being booked

BMC has suspended Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Patil of the K-North ward with immediate effect following allegations of cheating actor Jaaved Jaaferi's wife, Habiba Jaaferi, of ₹16.24 crore. Patil is accused of teaming up with others to cheat Habiba by promising high returns on a property redevelopment project. Following the registration of an FIR, Patil has reportedly gone absconding.
