Jain monk Shantisagarji Maharaj jailed for raping 19-yr-old student in Gujarat

A sessions court in Gujarat has sentenced Jain monk Shantisagarji Maharaj to jail for ten years for raping a 19-year-old college student in 2017. The woman claimed that the incident took place at the Jain Dharamshala in Surat. A public prosecutor said that as Shantisagarji Maharaj has been in jail since 2017, he will only serve the remaining years.
