Jamia Millia Islamia closed its two libraries citing security concerns as student protests over restoring the students' union — absent since 2006 — intensified. A hunger strike began October 12; clashes erupted after students were denied protest access at designated locations. Around 100 students entered via Gate 7; police were called to remove them.
