Japan actively courts India for joint 6th gen fighter jet project

The Japanese government has initiated discussions with India to collaborate on the joint development of a next-generation fighter jet under the Global Combat Aviation Programme (GCAP), a partnership led by Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy. The GCAP initiative aims to design and manufacture advanced fighter jets to replace aging fleets, with development costs expected to run into billions.
