Japan fund to invest $500K in 5 Indian vernacular segment startups

Japanese VC fund Akatsuki Entertainment Technology Fund is looking to make five early-stage investments in India's vernacular segment with an average ticket size of $500,000. Earlier, it invested in Indian startups like Doubtnut and LBB. Yuki Kawamura, the fund's executive, said that consumer segments including vernacular video and esports, among others, will be Akatsuki's focus areas in India.
