Japan govt halts use of Line messaging app for sensitive info

The Japanese government has decided to temporarily stop using messaging app Line for sensitive information. The decision comes after media reports claimed that four engineers at an affiliate of Line in Shanghai were allowed to access servers in Japan from 2018. The government will set up a task force to compile usage guidelines, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato said.
