Japan may send forces for minesweeping in Strait of Hormuz if ceasefire reached

Japan's Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said the country could consider deploying its military for minesweeping in the Strait of Hormuz if a "complete" ceasefire is reached between the US, Israel, and Iran. "If a ceasefire....established and naval mines were creating an obstacle...that would be something to consider," he said. Japan receives around 90% of its oil shipments via the strait.
