Japan underpaid ₹3,480cr in unemployment benefits over false data

Japan failed to pay a total of 53.7 billion yen (over ₹3,480 crore) in unemployment benefits for as long as 15 years after it emerged that the government has been incorrectly collecting job data. Although the surveys are supposed to gather data from all firms with 500 or more employees, they covered only one-third of such firms in Tokyo.
