Japanese man accused of killing 19 claims he is mentally ill

A Japanese man, 29-year-old Satoshi Uematsu, accused of stabbing 19 disable people to death has pleaded not guilty and his lawyer claimed he was suffering from a mental illness. His lawyer added that Uematsu's abuse of marijuana led to his "psychiatric disability". The incident, that also left 26 others wounded, took place in 2016 in Sagamihara, southwest of Tokyo.
