Japanese man gets ₹75,000 compensation 7 yrs after B'luru Police kept him in jail for 19 days
Seven years after a Japanese national, who arrived in Bengaluru to learn English but was put in jail for 19 days in a criminal case, received ₹75,000 compensation from Karnataka government. Karnataka's human rights commission said the man was unnecessarily kept in jail after he got into a physical altercation with a teacher. He was arrested under bailable charges.
