Japanese university bans ChatGPT use for reports, essays, theses

Japan's Sophia University has banned the use of ChatGPT by students for writing their essays, reports or theses. It also warned that strict measures will be taken if students are found using the tool. The University of Tokyo also updated its guidelines saying "reports must be created by students themselves and cannot be created solely with the help of AI".
