Japan's Nikkei index closes at highest level in 33 years
Japan's Nikkei index jumped 1.7% on Monday to close at 33,753.33, recording its highest close in 33 years. The broader Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) also rose 1.41% to 2,320.81. The surge was driven by a positive quarterly survey from the country's central bank that showed Japanese business sentiment improved in the second quarter.
