Japan's NTT to take mobile unit Docomo private in $40 bn deal
Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) has said it will take its wireless carrier business NTT Docomo private in a $40-billion deal. NTT will launch a tender offer for the 34% of Docomo stock that it doesn't own, at a premium of 40.5% to Monday's closing price. The buyout comes as PM Yoshihide Suga called on carriers to lower prices.
