The royal family of Darbhanga owned magnificent jewellery pieces, rivalled only by the Nizam of Hyderabad's collection. The last ruler, Kameshwar Singh Goutam Bahadur, was the third richest man in India. They were bankers to rulers who would even sell their heirloom jewels to the rulers of Darbhanga Raj. A jewellery owned by them was Peshwa Bajirao's Naulakha Haar .
