Jharkhand High Court bans promotions of state government employees

Jharkhand High Court has put a ban on all promotions of state government employees. HC was hearing a plea regarding the June 23 order of the Director General of Police on granting promotions to Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) to the post of Sub-Inspectors (SIs). DGP's order stated that reserved category ASIs can seek promotion in the general category, the petitioner claimed.
