Jharkhand Maoist with ₹30 lakh bounty killed in encounter in UP

A Jharkhand-based Maoist commander, carrying a ₹30 lakh bounty, was killed in an encounter with police in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on Sunday. The commander, Brijesh Ganjhu, was the chief of the Tritiya Prastuti Committee, a banned organisation and a splinter group that emerged from the CPI (Maoist). Police said an exchange of fire broke out after Ganjhu opened fire.
