Jhota murder deadlock ends as family agrees to autopsy

After a 22-day standoff, the family of slain anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota agreed to autopsy and cremation on Friday. The breakthrough followed a meeting with Punjab Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian. The government offered ₹2 crore compensation, a job for Jhota's wife, and CBI fast-tracking of the case.
