JI strike shuts Karachi markets over fuel prices

Jamaat-e-Islami staged a nationwide strike in Pakistan against petroleum levy, high fuel prices, and IPP agreements. Major Karachi markets shut down, traffic thinned, and violence erupted in Korangi and Orangi Town. Police detained several people. JI Karachi chief demanded abolition of petroleum levy, warning of expanded protests if government fails to act.
