All-rounder Jimmy Neesham captained New Zealand for the first time in his career in the fourth T20I against South Africa. He stepped in after Tom Latham, who was named stand-in captain for the last two T20Is of the five-match series, was ruled out due to a thumb injury. Notably, New Zealand lost the fourth T20I by 19 runs.
