JNU fines 2 students ₹1.8 lakh for drinking, using heater; student leader alleges extortion

Delhi's JNU imposed ₹1.8-lakh fines on two students for allegedly allowing outsiders to enter their hostel rooms, consuming alcohol and hookah, and for possessing an induction stove and heater. "Security personnel attempted to open your room...but you didn't open the door," JNU's notice to a student read. Student leader Kunal Kumar alleged those who didn't support ABVP were being fined.
