Jock Itch fungal infection linked to sexual activity rises in US

A rare and highly contagious fungus called jock itch has emerged in New York, causing rashes around the genital area. Four cases have so far been reported since June this year. This highly contagious ailment causes itchy and scaly lesions on the trunk, groin and genitals. Some patients also experience inflammation that could further cause a bacterial infection.
