Joe Root becomes 1st captain to reach 3,000 runs in WTC

England's Joe Root became the first batter to complete 3,000 runs as captain in World Test Championship (WTC) history. He achieved the feat during the first England-Pakistan Test, in which he scored 66(112), taking his WTC run tally to 3,024 runs. Former England captain Ben Stokes hit 2,182 runs as captain in WTC, while Virat Kohli scored 1,349 runs.
