Joe Root becomes fastest batter to score 13,000 Test runs in terms of matches

Ex-England captain Joe Root on Thursday became the fastest batter to score 13,000 runs in Test cricket in terms of matches. The 34-year-old took 153 matches to score 13,000 Test runs. He broke the previous record held by Jacques Kallis (159 matches). Rahul Dravid, Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar took 160, 162 and 163 matches to reach the milestone, respectively.
