England captain Joe Root has created history by scoring most runs in Test cricket at home. With his 24(37) in the second innings of the Lord's Test against Pakistan, Root took his tally of Test runs at home to 7,594, overtaking the previous record held by ex-Australia captain Ricky Ponting, who scored 7,578 Test runs on home soil.
