India's Joshna Chinappa beat the Danish player Line Hansen in straight games (11-5, 11-4, 11-9) to win the $15,000 Victorian Open squash competition for her 10th World Squash Association title. The Indian held the upper hand right through, although she said it was a "hard game" particularly after Line fought back and brought the score to 9-9 in the third game.
