At a FICCI event in New Delhi on Monday, a journalist asked Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, "Why was Sensex not happy on Budget day?" Responding to the journalist, Sitharaman said, "But I see them being happy today. Monday is the true working mood, and today's mood is that they are happy." On the Budget day, Sensex fell almost 1,000 points.
