Jurassic Period's 'top predator' was just half a metre long: Study
The Jurassic Period's "top predator" measured just half a metre long and weighed around 2 kg, researchers from the University of Shenyang, Chicago, and Bonn have found. Megacauda sungei, a 165-million-year-old aquatic mammal species, had fur and hunted its prey in water. The cusps of its teeth were also curved backwards to enable it to catch its slippery prey.
