During the Supreme Court hearing, Justice Surya Kant expressed concern over the timing and tone of professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad's social media post. Referring to national security challenges, he asked, "Why are they trying to gain popularity?" and stressed unity during crises. He questioned whether such remarks were appropriate when "monsters came and attacked our people".
