K'taka announces ₹2,500 subsidy for 50 lakh drought-affected farmers

Karnataka Deputy CM G Parameshwara announced that the state government will provide an input subsidy of ₹2,500 each to around 45 lakh to 50 lakh drought-affected farmers. The input subsidy will cost the state exchequer ₹1,250 crore, Parameshwara said in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He stated that 177 taluks had so far been declared drought-affected.
