K'taka govt approves new sub-classification within 15% quota for Scheduled Castes

Karnataka government on Friday approved a new sub-classification within the 15% quota for Scheduled Castes in the state. Now, a 5.25% quota will be for Category 1 (Madigas and allied castes/Dalit left) and 5.25% for Category 2 (Holeyas and allied castes/Dalit right). While the remaining 4.5% quota will be for Category 3 (Bhovi, Lambani, Korama, Koracha and 59 nomadic communities).
