K'taka to restructure Bengaluru municipal corporation from May 15

The Karnataka government will issue the notification for Greater Bengaluru Governance Act (GBGA), 2024 on May 15, said the state's Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil. The new legislation aims to replace the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Act, 2021, and transform the city's current civic body, including breaking it up into multiple corporations, up to seven at max.
