K’taka village to publicly slap those caught drinking, gambling

Karnataka's Kuntoji village announced that anyone caught selling or consuming alcohol, using drugs, gambling, or consuming tobacco will be publicly slapped and will be fined ₹25,000. The villagers met at a temple and announced the rules after discussing issues such as family conflicts, financial difficulties, debt, and concerns about the future of the younger generation due to these addictions.
