The Assam government has declared 'Kaji Nemu' (citrus lemon) as the state fruit. The fruit had received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag and has been commercially grown in the state. "With its unique aroma and antioxidant properties, Assam lemon has enriched our local cuisines," Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
