Actor-politician Kamal Haasan praised Tamil Nadu CM Vijay's order to shut down 717 TASMAC liquor outlets and said, "Liquor sales should never be a function of the government." "This number must be increased. This action must be continued," he added. The outlets were shut for being located within a 500-metre radius of places of worship, educational institutions and bus stations.
