Kambala, muddy water buffalo race, makes grand debut in Bengaluru

Kambala, the ancient agrarian sport of coastal Karnataka, has been organised in Bengaluru for the city dwellers to know and enjoy the sport. More than 180 pairs of buffaloes and their owners, jockeys, and caretakers took part. The event cut across political and other divides to watch the Kambala races on a specially-erected 135-metre twin slushy muddy water tracks.
