Kannada actor Ranya Rao & associates smuggled 127-kg gold: ED in chargesheet

The ED filed a prosecution complaint in Bengaluru against Kannada actor Ranya Rao and two others in a large-scale gold smuggling and money laundering case. According to ED, over 127-kg gold worth ₹102 crore was smuggled into India and sold domestically, with proceeds routed through 'hawala' and banking channels. Rao was arrested at Bengaluru airport in 2025 with 14.2-kg gold.
