Kareem's & Nizam's among 40 eateries to lose licence in Kolkata ahead of Durga Puja

Kolkata Municipal Corporation suspended food licences of 40 establishments over violations after a week-long drive ahead of Durga Puja. These included Kareem's on Mirza Ghalib Street, Don Giovanni's on Park Street and specific outlets of Arsalan, Nizam's and Shimla Biryani. Inspections found cockroaches, rats, fungal contamination, poor refrigeration, poor sanitation and other violations.
