Real Madrid extend Benzema's contract until 2023, insert €1 billion release clause

Footballer Karim Benzema has extended his contract with Real Madrid for the next two seasons, the club announced on Friday. A release clause of €1 billion has been inserted into the deal for the 33-year-old who joined Madrid in 2009 and has played 560 matches, scoring 281 goals across competitions. Madrid have won four Champions League titles with Benzema.
