German philosopher, economist, sociologist, journalist, and revolutionary, Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818. Marx and his friend Friedrich Engels published “The Communist Manifesto” in 1848, which had their concept of socialism. In 1867, Marx published the first volume of “Das Capital”, which analysed the capitalist process of production. Other volumes of the text were published after his death.
