Karnataka farmer harvests 100 kg rambutan and mangosteen per tree

Lohith Shetty bought saplings of rambutan and mangosteen from Kerala and planted them on his farm in Dakshin Kannada district in 2006 after sensing a high demand for exotic fruits in the Indian market. Now these trees yield around 100 kg of fruits per season and wholesalers buy them from the farm at ₹350 a kg and above.
